Hi I’m Richard.
Im a manual driving and automatic instructor based in South London, supporting learners across areas such as South Norwood SE25, Crystal Palace SE19, and surrounding areas and I’m dedicated to helping every learner become a safe, confident and capable driver. I know that no two people learn in the same way, which is why every lesson is personalised to suit your pace, your experience, and your goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or picking things up again after a break, you’ll always get clear guidance, patience, and support that’s tailored to you.
Many of my learners come to me feeling nervous or unsure, and that’s completely normal. Together, we’ll build your confidence step by step — celebrating progress, working through challenges, and turning those early nerves into genuine self-belief. You’ll never be rushed, judged, or pushed before you’re ready. Instead, we work as a team, focusing on steady improvement and developing the skills you need to feel comfortable behind the wheel.

Learning to drive should feel calm, focused and fully centred around you. Whether you choose manual or automatic lessons, my aim is to create an environment where you feel in control, supported, and confident from the moment you get into the car. Every lesson is personalised to your pace and your goals, so you can prioritise yourself and learn in a way that feels natural and comfortable.
You can expect each session to be structured but relaxed — we’ll start with a clear plan, build skills step by step, and take time to reflect on what’s working well. My approach is rooted in coaching methods that encourage you to think, make decisions, and understand the “why” behind every action. This helps you develop real confidence, not just the ability to pass a test.
If you’re nervous, that’s completely okay. I specialise in helping anxious learners feel steady and in control, using calm guidance and simple techniques that make driving feel manageable.
We’ll work together as a team, focusing on progress rather than perfection, and celebrating every milestone along the way.

"Phenomenal would be an understatement when it comes to describing how good an instructor Richard is!
After failing twice with another instructor, I decided to go to Richard, and had no regrets, he truly teaches you how to drive and read situations, rather than doing test roads again and again and again to the point where you’re not thinking.
He’s also incredibly professional, always turning up on time, never cancelling a lesson last minute; I appreciated him so much as an instructor and it all paid off, passed my first time with him, and only got one minor!
